Part-time, Volunteer, Casual – Temporarily remote

Motive Action Training Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organization that was incorporated in 1985 to help unemployed youth gain full time employment. Its mission is to develop and provide trained individuals for entry-level positions in the trades.

Motive Action is seeking a motivated volunteer to join the Board of Directors to fill a vacancy. Serving with the Board provides an exciting opportunity to develop new skills, meet and network with a variety of people, and make a meaningful contribution to unemployed people in Calgary and the wider community.

The Motive Action Board meets once a month, usually between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. We are based out of Calgary, but we are currently meeting online to accommodate COVID-19 protocols.

The Board operates under a governance model. Directors are expected to stay informed about issues related to due diligence, participate in the work of committees, and actively support the efforts of the organization. Board members are expected to fulfill a one-year renewable term.

Please email Karl Herzog at to apply.
